Iridium Introduction

Iridium is the most corrosion resistant metal of all precious metals, and it has high stability. Only a few of the medias have corrosive effect on iridium such as saturated Br2, molten caustic soda, molten caustic potassium, molten sodium peroxide and molten sodium carbonate.

Iridium has the characteristics of high melting point, high hardness and good chemical stability.Iridium coating has excellent corrosion resistance and abrasion resistance.

Application

  • Iridium is applied in spark plug industry and aviation, chemical, crystal, electromechanical and other related fields (ignition electrode, high temperature thermocouple, electric contact material, filament, high temperature resistance wire, etc.).

  • Iridium coating can be used as high temperature antioxidant protection layers for refractory metals, graphite and other aerospace missile materials.
