Vanadium is a metal with unique physical and chemical properties, and its parts have significant applications in multiple industrial fields. The following is a detailed introduction from two aspects: core characteristics and main applications:
Vanadium has excellent mechanical properties. It has a relatively high hardness by itself, and when alloyed with metals such as steel and titanium, it can significantly enhance the strength, toughness and wear resistance of the base material. For instance, the yield strength and tensile strength of vanadium steel are 30% to 50% higher than those of ordinary carbon steel, while maintaining good impact toughness, making it suitable for manufacturing parts that bear heavy loads and impacts. Vanadium has a significant grain refinement effect. When added to alloys, it can improve the microstructure of metals, reduce performance defects caused by coarse grains, and further optimize the mechanical stability of parts.

Vanadium has outstanding high-temperature resistance. Its melting point is as high as 1890℃, and it has good high-temperature stability. It can maintain good strength and structural integrity in an environment below 800℃ and is not prone to softening or deformation. Its alloy parts can withstand medium and high-temperature working conditions and are suitable for key components of high-temperature equipment.

Vanadium has excellent corrosion resistance. At room temperature, it can react with oxygen to form a dense oxide film, preventing the internal metal from being further corroded. It also has certain corrosion resistance to the atmosphere, fresh water and some neutral salt solutions. In specific media (such as weak acid and alkali environments), its corrosion resistance can be further enhanced through surface treatment (such as coating, passivation).

Vanadium has strong processability. It can be made into parts of different shapes through various processes such as smelting, forging, rolling and mechanical processing. At the same time, it can also be alloyed with other metals (such as titanium, aluminum, chromium, etc.), and the composition can be adjusted according to application requirements to optimize performance.
