The properties of niobium53-titanium47 alloy

Niobium 53-titanium 47 alloy (Nb53-Ti47) is a typical β -type titanium alloy. Its core performance advantages lie in excellent low-temperature toughness, high specific strength and good machinability, making it particularly suitable for structural applications in low-temperature environments.

Mechanical properties: Outstanding performance at low temperatures and extremely strong low-temperature toughness: It can maintain good plasticity at liquid helium temperature (-269℃) and will not undergo "low-temperature embrittlement", which is the key characteristic that distinguishes it from most alloys. High specific strength: The tensile strength at room temperature is approximately 700-900 mpa, and the density is only about 6.5g/cm³. The ratio of strength to weight is superior to that of many structural steels and aluminum alloys, making it suitable for lightweight demand scenarios. Stable fatigue performance: It is not prone to cracking under long-term cyclic loads, has a long service life, and is suitable for components subjected to repeated forces.

Physical and chemical properties: Wide adaptability and good corrosion resistance: It can form a stable oxide film in the atmosphere, seawater and most neutral solutions, and is not prone to rust. However, it has relatively weak corrosion resistance in strongly acidic media and requires additional protection. Moderate thermal and electrical conductivity: The thermal conductivity is approximately 10-15W/(m · K), and the resistivity is about 1.2×10⁻⁶Ω · m, which can meet the heat transfer and insulation requirements of general structural components without the need for special design. Non-magnetic property: It belongs to non-magnetic alloys and will not be attracted by magnetic fields, making it suitable for equipment sensitive to magnetic environments (such as medical imaging equipment and precision instruments).
