The invention relates to a titanium-zirconium-tantalum shape memory alloy material and a preparation method, which is composed of 45.5~ 48.5at. % titanium, 45.5~ 48.5at. % zirconium and 3~ 9at. % tantalum according to the percentage of material content of each component of the alloy material. The invention improves the mechanical properties of the alloy by adding Ta element, so as to make a titanium, zirconium and tantalum shape memory alloy with good memory effect. On the one hand, it can be used as a biomedical material to replace TiNi shape memory alloy to avoid the harm of Ni dissolution to human safety. On the other hand, its good mechanical properties and corrosion resistance can expand its industrial and medical applications.

Shape memory alloys represented by Tini-based alloys have unique shape memory effect and can output large stress and strain, which have been widely used in medicine, industry and life.

The invention provides a titanium zirconium tantalum shape memory alloy material and a preparation method thereof, which can improve the mechanical properties of the alloy by adding tantalum element, so as to make a titanium zirconium tantalum shape memory alloy with good memory effect. Based on binary TiZr alloy, TiZrTa shape memory alloy with good memory effect can be made by adding high purity tantalum element to improve the compression and tensile mechanical properties of the alloy.

When the ratio of titanium to zirconium is 1:1 and tantalum content is 5-9 at.%, the shape memory effect of titanium-zirconium-tantalum shape memory alloy is 4.7-8.6 %. When the ratio of titanium to zirconium is 1:1 and tantalum content is 5-7at.%, the shape memory effect of titanium-zirconium-tantalum shape memory alloy is 4.7-7.7 %, while maintaining excellent physical properties of tension and compression.
