The L605 superalloy is the most suitable cobalt-based alloy to be machined and used in working conditions lasting 1800°F. Due to its long and extensive use, this alloy has been used in a large number of working conditions, so it is a material with very general characteristics. When exposed to prolonged intermediate temperatures, the L605 superalloys exhibit a slightly reduced room temperature ductility similar to other specialty alloys such as alloy X and alloy 626.

2. Oxidation resistance at 1800°F

4. Resistance to seawater environment and acidic fluids.

Main applications of L605 superalloy:
1. Gas turbine engine components, such as combustor and afterburner
2. High temperature ball bearing and bearing ring
3. The spring
4. Artificial cardiac valve.

Welding process of L605:
Use GTAW, GMAW, MANUAL AND electron beam welding and resistance spot welding. Submerged arc welding is not recommended. Use good joint equipment, minimum brake current, low interlayer temperature for welding, cooling quickly after welding. For maximum ductility, manufactured parts should be annealed at 2150-2250°F and cooled rapidly.
