A niobium alloy consisting of a certain amount of titanium, aluminum and other alloy elements.

There are two kinds of niobium titanium aluminum alloy ingot billets with different preparation methods. One is the elastic alloy ingot billet, which is prepared by vacuum consumable electric arc melting. After high temperature forging (extrusion) or rolling, the billet and solid solution softening treatment are processed into bar, wire, sheet, strip, foil and other products under pressure. The alloy heat treatment usually adopts solid solution treatment and aging treatment. The treatment should be carried out in vacuum or inert atmosphere. The other is the antioxidant alloy ingot billet, which is prepared by powder metallurgy, mechanical alloying, rapid solidification, etc., and then by isothermal forging and other plastic processing methods to prepare the alloy forging, slab, bar billet and other products. During the heat treatment of such products, the shape, size and distribution of the sheet intermetallic compounds should be strictly controlled to obtain the best mechanical properties and antioxidant properties.

Nb-ti-al series elastic alloy has the following characteristics:

(1) non-magnetic: its magnetic susceptibility is of the order of 10-6. (2) constant elasticity: with low temperature coefficient of elastic modulus, it can be used to make elastic sensitive elements, which can significantly improve the accuracy of the instrument. (3) high temperature resistance: nb-38.5 Ti - 5.5 Al alloy still maintains its elasticity in long-term use at 400℃, and has enough stress-resistant relaxation stability until 500℃. (4) low elastic modulus: the elastic modulus E of nb-38.5ti -5.5al at room temperature is 108GPa, 40% ~ 50% lower than that of general elastic alloy. Under the same stress state, the niobium alloy elastic element can obtain greater elastic strain, which correspondingly improves the sensitivity of the instrument. (5) high energy storage ratio. (6) excellent corrosion resistance in highly corrosive medium. (7) elastic hysteresis and low elastic aftereffect. Compared with other elastic alloys, niobium based elastic alloys have the best comprehensive performance, and should be used as high-precision elastic sensor for instrument which requires no magnetism, corrosion resistance, constant elasticity, high energy storage ratio and high temperature.
