Niobium in the periodic table is located in the first Ⅴ, atomic number is 41, atomic weight of 92.91. Ferroniobium was first produced in 1918. But it wasn't until 1930, when niobium was used in steel in the form of iron niobium, that the use of niobium began to increase. Even today, the steel industry remains the main consumer of niobium. In recent years, due to the development of high strength and low alloy steel, the use of niobium in steel industry has soared.

As a material with high biocompatibility and physicochemical properties, niobium has been applied to different subfields of stomatology and plays different roles. Due to its relatively low elastic modulus and strong corrosion resistance, niobium has been applied to implant, repair, orthodontic and maxillofacial surgery. Because of the high transmittance of radiation, it is used in oral medicine and radiology.

Medical niobium is a high purity sharp for medical use. Ni has good resistance to physiological corrosion and good biocompatibility with physiological tissues. When transplanted, ni can form osseous bonds with surrounding new bones. When transplanted into muscle and soft tissue, muscles can attach to ni strips and grow constantly. The preparation method is the same. Often used in the manufacture of intramedullary nail, bone plate, bone screw, root implant, etc.
