A - TIG welding (Activating flux TIG welding) is active (welding) agent tungsten argon arc welding, it is primarily in the welding workpieces surface coating of A very thin layer of active agent, in the TIG welding, its biggest effect is the basic characteristics of TIG welding, can significantly improve the penetration and reduce the generation of porosity. This is because the active agent makes the arc spot shrink, the area of arc spot on the base material decreases, and the arc fusion depth increases.

A-tig welding was used to weld titanium and its alloy with appropriate welding parameters, such as TC4 titanium alloy with thickness of 2mm, as shown in figure 1. And the choice of active agent can obtain better welding joint than ordinary TIG. The active agents of choice may be NaF2, CaF2, YF3, MgF2, or an a-tig Ti01 flux (15 ~ 25%CaF2+5 ~ 15%MgF2+ residual SrF2). Mix and stir the powder active agent with acetone to form a glue liquid, and evenly apply it to the surface of the welding part to be welded with a brush, or spray. The coating is generally 0.1 ~ 0.2mm. Before welding, the surface of titanium alloy welding parts should be cleaned with a steel wire brush until the metallic luster is exposed, and then wiped with anhydrous ethanol to remove organic matter and dry it before welding. Welding to use a drag cover, reverse protection and other measures. In short, other processes are similar to TIG except for welding with surfactant.
