Niobium zirconium alloy refers to the alloy composed by adding zirconium to the metal niobium. The main niobium zirconium alloys are nb-1zr alloys. Zirconium added in niobium can improve the strength of the alloy without affecting the plasticity and processing properties of the alloy. Zirconium can also improve the oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance of the alloy. Nb-1zr alloy is the most widely used niobium alloy, is a low-strength niobium alloy, good processing and welding performance, mainly used in aerospace, nuclear reactors, new type of electric light source sodium lamp and other application fields.

Zirconium mainly exists in the state of solid solution in niobium alloys, and a small amount of carbides and oxides are dispersed when trace amounts of oxygen and carbon are present or trace amounts of carbon are added. Zirconium added in niobium can improve the strength of the alloy without affecting the plasticity and processing properties of the alloy. Zirconium can also improve the oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance of the alloy.

The ingot of nb-1zr alloy is prepared by means of consumable arc furnace, electron beam furnace or combined melting process according to its performance and purity of gap impurities (carbon, oxygen and nitrogen). For products with low purity requirements, niobium powder and zirconium powder can also be mixed to form alloy ingots. The alloy ingots are shaped by hot extrusion or hot forging. Powder sintered ingot can be directly processed into wood.

Nb-1zr alloy is the most widely used niobium alloy, is a low-strength niobium alloy, good processing and welding performance, mainly used in aerospace, nuclear reactors, new type of electric light source sodium lamp and other application fields.
