Ingots can be recovered from ingots by two electron beam smelting processes, such as ingot chips, processed material scrap and cold processed product residues (such as material heads, process waste products, etc.).

Purification treatment: the residual materials produced in the process of pressure processing are mainly contaminated by coolant and lubricant, which can be cleaned by organic solvents such as alkali, acetone or alcohol, or by high-efficiency detergent (neutral or weakly alkaline). Washing can be done in a rotary washer. Wash with water until neutral and no oil. The residual material after drying, and then in the electric heating drying baking in the oven, 70 ~ 80 ℃ drying 3 ~ 4 hours.

Preparation of material rod: different preparation methods are adopted according to the shape and size of the residual material after surface purification. The bulk residues were bundled after shearing and then welded in an argon arc welding box. The chip and thin foil can be molded on an oil press to form a compact. The unit pressure is 8 107~l l08Pa, and the compact density is 60%~70% of the theoretical density. Because the elasticity of tantalum residue is larger than that of niobium residue, generally, it should be fed and prepressed in batches for 2 to 3 times, and then molded by total pressure. And niobium chips can be pressed into a single feeding. The pressing block is welded into the required specification material rod in the argon arc welding box. For the reinforcement material rod, the welding plate scrap material can be overlapped between the joints of the cross section.

Tantalum electrolytic capacitors are divided into two types according to their electrolytes: solid electrolytic capacitors and liquid electrolytic capacitors. Solid electrolytic capacitor is made of tantalum as anode and amorphous solid manganese dioxide as electrolyte (cathode). Liquid electrolytic capacitors have tantalum as the anode, sulfuric acid as the electrolyte (cathode), and silver or tantalum as the case. The common point of these two kinds of capacitors is that tantalum powder is used as raw material to make tantalum anode body through molding, sintering and energy (anodic oxidation).

Waste materials produced in the production of tantalum electrolytic capacitors may include unqualified sintered blocks, energy-enabling blocks, coated (MnO2) blocks or unqualified tantalum capacitors: waste tantalum capacitors may also be produced in the use process. Therefore, there are two types of waste tantalum capacitors: waste tantalum blocks and waste tantalum capacitors.
