Method for preparing tantalum-tungsten alloy blank

Firmetal, 2019-01-28 09:21:00 PM

(1)The powders were mixed with tantalum powder with an average particle size of 3 m ~ 5 m and tungsten powder with an average particle size of 3 m as raw materials and weighed according to the required proportion.

(2) blank pressing, the mixture of powder in the molding press blank pressing, pressing pressure is 300MPa ~ 400MPa, get the blank;

(3) the billet is broken, the billet is put into the ball grinding tank of the high energy ball mill for crushing, and the billet particle size is 0.1mm ~ 0.3mm;

(4) arc melting, put the billet particles into the crucible of the arc melting furnace, close the furnace door, vacuum until the pressure in the furnace chamber is lower than 0.003pa, then stop vacuum pumping, fill with high purity argon to 0.05mpa and vacuum pumping, repeat the above vacuum pumping steps for three times before smelting to get tantalum-tungsten alloy blank.

The ball grinding conditions described in step 1 are as follows: the ball grinding medium is self-made tantalum ball with a diameter of 6mm, the mass ratio of tantalum ball and powder put in is 1:3-1:4, the high energy ball mill speed is 400r/min ~ 600r/min, the turning adjustment time is 5min ~ 10min, and the ball grinding time is 60min ~ 120min.

As a preference, the blanking described in step 2 May be bidirectional or unidirectional.

The ball grinding conditions described in step (3) are as follows: the ball grinding medium is homemade tantalum ball with a diameter of 6mm, the mass ratio of the tantalum ball and powder put in is 1:3-1:4, the high energy ball mill rotation speed is 50r/min ~ 60r/min, the turning adjustment time is 2min ~ 3min, and the ball grinding time is 10min ~ 20min.

As an optimization, the arc smelting conditions described in step (4) are as follows: smelting current 400A ~ 500A, smelting time 3min ~ 5min, smelting times 3-4 times, and turning over the sample after each smelting.

Compared with existing technologies, the present invention has the advantages of less overall preparation process, higher preparation efficiency, lower cost, lower requirements for preparation and uniform composition of tantalum-tungsten alloy blank.
