The preparation method of homogeneous ingot of niobium titanium alloy includes the following steps: 1. The homogeneous ingot composition distribution of high niobium alloy can be satisfied in industrial production.

Niobium is an isomorphic β-stable element of titanium alloy, which can be solidly dissolved with titanium indefinitely. Because the melting point of niobium is much higher than that of titanium, and the density is large, the quality problems of high niobium titanium alloy are common at present.

For special titanium alloys containing more refractory metal niobium, the uniform distribution of refractory metal element niobium in ingot is the key to guarantee the quality of ingot. In the prior art, niobium rod and titanium sponge are used to press the electrode, or niobium rod is used as the heart of the consumable electrode, and the sponge titanium electrode is welded to the niobium rod, and the alloy ingot prepared by multiple vacuum consumable arc melting is easy to exist niobium non-frit. In addition, niobium metal powder is also used as a raw material to mix with titanium sponge for vacuum consumable arc melting process, but a large amount of powder added to titanium sponge, the electrode strength is significantly reduced, and the melting current is higher than that of conventional titanium alloy, which is easy to cause fracture in the electrode melting process, directly affecting the quality of the ingot. If niobium-titanium metal is prepared by condensation smelting, the preparation process is complicated, the price is high, and the crushing is difficult. Therefore, a better preparation method is needed to improve the metallurgical quality of Nb-Ti alloy homogeneous ingot.
