Titanium alloy is titanium based on the addition of other elements of the alloy, titanium has two kinds of homogenous crystal: titanium isomer, melting point of 1720℃, below 882℃ is dense row hexagonal lattice structure, known as α titanium; Above 882℃, it exhibits a body-centered cubic lattice structure, which is called β titanium.

Titanium alloys with different structures can be obtained by adding appropriate alloying elements and changing the phase transition temperature and phase fraction content.

For example, when we add a metal element called nickel, it becomes a nickel-titanium shape memory alloy. It takes on different shapes at different phase transition temperatures.

But when it is subjected to a limited plastic deformation, the use of different ways, can be restored to its original shape.

Temperature control spring made from it, using the shape memory function of nickel-titanium shape memory alloy, has been used in water heater, temperature control valve, fire alarm device and security device of electrical equipment. Titanium alloy has the advantages of high strength and low density, good mechanical properties, good toughness and corrosion resistance. Titanium alloy is a new important structural material used in aerospace industry. Its specific gravity, strength and service temperature are between aluminum and steel, but its strength is higher than aluminum and steel, and it has excellent seawater corrosion resistance and ultra-low temperature performance. Titanium alloy in addition to the application in the medical field, is now also made for food containers, increasingly life.

In the future, it is believed that with the continuous improvement of medical level and scientific research level, the use of titanium alloy will be widely explored and more and more will be used in human life.
