The many excellent properties of titanium determine that titanium is also very suitable for use as a building wall roofing material in various environments, and the roof is mostly used in the construction of titanium, accounting for about 60%, and the external wall accounts for about 30%. Japan is the earliest country to use titanium in construction, and titanium has a history of about 30 years as a building material. The United States is the largest country with titanium, mainly concentrated in the aerospace field, and has gradually transferred to the civilian field. In recent years, titanium for construction in Europe has also developed rapidly, and many countries have titanium plans for construction.

Even so, the use of titanium plates in construction is still very few. (Many people are easy to misinterpret the often said "titanium zinc plate" as a titanium plate, and the actual titanium zinc plate is only a zinc alloy plate with a very small amount of titanium elements; The "titanium plate" is mainly titanium, but a very small amount of other elements added to the metal alloy material. This is also the main reason why we have always recommended using "zinc plate" instead of "titanium zinc plate" as the name of zinc alloy plate.

Titanium plate excellent corrosion resistance, in addition to a small amount of stains, after more than ten years of wind and rain is still bright as new, and unlike other metal sheets will show natural, time to bring surface changes. At present, the high cost of titanium smelting process leads to the relatively expensive price of titanium (by weight is about 2 times of stainless steel), however, from its super corrosion resistance, strength, weight, service life and building life cycle, building load, comprehensive maintenance costs and other aspects of comprehensive consideration, titanium compared with other metals is still very competitive.

In practice, a more cost-effective solution is to use titanium combined with other metals as titanium composite plates, which have both the corrosion resistance of titanium and the stiffness of ordinary thickness metal sheets. The outer layer of the roof of China's National Grand Theatre is said to use an area of 30,000 m2 titanium-stainless steel composite panel, it is said that the manufacturer has promised a 100-year shelf life, which has created a precedent for the application and promotion of titanium in the field of construction in China.
