Porous niobium and its preparation as a medical metal implant material

Porous niobium used as a medical implant material and a preparation method thereof. The porous niobium has a foam structure with three-dimensional connected distribution of pores. The niobium powder slurry is prepared by using a solution prepared with organic binder and dispersant and niobium powder powder, and poured into the organic foam, impregnated until the pores of the organic foam are filled with niobium powder slurry, and then dried to remove the dispersant in the organic foam with niobium powder slurry. After degreasing in inert gas atmosphere to remove organic binder and organic foam, porous sintered body was prepared by sintering under vacuum. On the foam skeleton composed of sintered pure niobium powder, the niobium powder particles had sintering neck structure among each other, and then the porous niobium was prepared by annealing under vacuum and conventional post-treatment. The porous niobium of the invention has high porosity, uniform and connected pore distribution, uniform sintered microstructure particles, and obvious sintered neck, which ensures good mechanical properties, especially good ductility.

Refractory metal niobium, due to its excellent biocompatibility and mechanical properties, its porous material is expected to replace the above-mentioned traditional medical metal biomaterials and become the main biomaterials for bone tissue necrosis treatment. Because metal niobium is harmless, non-toxic and without side effects to the human body, and with the rapid development of medicine at home and abroad, the understanding of niobium as a human body implant material is further deepened, people's demand for porous metal niobium materials for human body implantation is becoming more and more urgent, and the requirements for it are becoming higher and higher. Among them, as a porous medical implantation metal niobium, if it can have a high uniform distribution of connected pores and adapt to the physical and mechanical properties of the human body, it is an important connection material to ensure the normal growth of new bone tissue.

As a medical implant of porous metal materials, just like general porous metal materials, it is basically based on powder sintering method as the main processing method, especially in order to obtain porous metal structure foam with porosity communication and uniform distribution, the metal powder slurry in powder sintering method is soaked on the organic foam after drying and then sintering referred to as foam impregnation method. Generally, the mechanical properties of porous metal materials with pore connectivity and uniform distribution obtained by powder sintering are not very good. The main reasons are how to arrange the support and elimination relationship of porous media in the process and the collapse of metal powder in the sintering process. However, the known literature reports do not have a good solution and let nature alone.
