Rhenium tungsten wire (tungsten rhenium alloy wire) or Sapphire tungsten-rhenium alloy wire (tungsten rhenium alloy wire for Sapphire) is base in rhenium tungsten alloy elements, is a kind of tungsten alloy. The typical rhenium content in the alloy is 1%, 3%, 5%, 20%, 25% and 26%, etc. The microcracks are often produced by tungsten on the grain boundary, and the expansion of these microcracks is an important reason for the fracture of tungsten. Tungsten-rhenium alloy in easy forming twin deformation process, and thus reduce the stacking fault energy, reduce the dislocation movement of grain boundary impedance, resulting in dislocation mobility increases, prompting tungsten solution to soften. This phenomenon is called "rhenium plasticizing effect". In the tungsten-rhenium alloy series, the plasticization effect of rhenium is obvious, and the plasticization effect of rhenium is reduced.

There are two kinds of tungsten rhenium alloy powder metallurgy and smelting method. The powder metallurgy process for the production of tungsten rhenium alloy is:

For making tungsten rhenium pre alloying powder - hydrogen reduction - pressure form (moulded or isostatic pressing) - sintering (sintered sintering or medium frequency induction sintering) - pressure processing (including extrusion, rolling, forging and drawing, etc.).

For making tungsten rhenium pre alloy powder is a commonly used method of fixation (tungsten powder mixed with rhenium powder, tungsten trioxide powder mixed with rhenium acid ammonium powder), solid a liquid method (mixed with ammonium nitrate solution rhenium tungsten powder, tungsten trioxide powder mixed with rhenium acid ammonium solution), a liquid (ammonium tungstate solution mixed with rhenium acid ammonium solution by spray drying or other methods for making), etc.

The hydrogenated tungsten-rhenium alloy powder can be mechanically pressed and steel die pressed to form, or isostatic pressing (uniform density of pressing blank). The slabs can be sintered by direct current or cP, and the N induction is indirectly heated, and the relative density is 92% ~ 95% of the tungsten rhenium alloy bars. Isostatic pressure forming and medium frequency induction heating sintering can obtain the highest quality bar, its uniformity and consistency is the best in all production methods.
